Machinery worth thousands stolen in burglary near Shaftesbury

MACHINERY worth thousands of pounds was stolen during a break-in at a commercial premises near Shaftesbury.

Police are appealing for information after three men broke into Melbury Workshops, at Cann Common, at around 3.30am on Tuesday, November 18.

Officers said the burglars “made off with two items of diagnostic machinery, worth several thousand pounds each”, before leaving the scene in a white Audi A3.

PC Samuel Berry, of North Dorset police, said: “We are exploring a number of lines of enquiry to identify those involved in this burglary and I am keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the early hours of Tuesday 18 November 2025 to please contact us.

“I would also urge anyone who was driving in the vicinity around the relevant time to please check any dashcam footage to see if they have captured a vehicle matching the description given.”
