Zeals primary school celebrates glowing inspection report

A SCHOOL in Zeals is celebrating after inspectors praised its welcoming atmosphere, strong leadership and commitment to helping every child succeed.

The latest inspection found Whitesheet Church of England Primary Academy is meeting all expected standards, highlighting its inclusive culture, ambitious curriculum and the high standards pupils achieve, particularly in mathematics and writing.

Inspectors also recognised the school’s wide range of activities beyond the classroom, including drama, multi-sports and environmental projects, while praising the tailored support available for disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs.

The report comes as executive headteacher Emily Mullord prepares to take on a new role within the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust.

She said: “This report reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire school community. I am proud of our inclusive approach and the way our Christian vision shapes every aspect of school life. Whitesheet is a place where children climb to new heights together.”

Parents also gave the school a strong vote of confidence with 100% saying they would recommend Whitesheet, while most agreed their children are happy, safe and well supported.

CEO of the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust Mark Lacey said: “The school’s vision is evident in its daily operations, with pupils demonstrating confidence in overcoming barriers and supporting one another. We are proud to have Whitesheet in our family of schools.”

Incoming Executive Headteacher Richard Boase, who was involved in the inspection during the leadership transition, added: “I am excited to build on the school’s successes and continue fostering a community where every child feels safe, inspired, and ready for the future.”

The report also identified opportunities to further strengthen progress in some subjects, with the school already working to build on those areas.
