Four young dancers get into the acclaimed Cecchetti Ballet Associates in London.
CONGRATULATIONS go to four young dance students – Imogen Gawler, 10, sisters Harriet and Sophie Wraith, 10, and 9, and Tilly Hutchins, 9; all regulars at Just Dance in Wincanton, who recently auditioned for the Cecchetti Ballet Associates in London. The good news: they all got in!

“I’m incredibly proud of my students,” says Emma O’Brien, 48, founder of Just Dance and a dancer herself from the age of three. “It feels so good to be part of their process. I’ve been dancing for 45 years of my life, but wanted to teach from the age of eight when I was inspired by my own dance teacher. Now I help train children, aged from 3–18 years, in several different styles of dance, including Irish, contemporary, street, and ballet.
“I selected the girls and put them forward for the audition because they have talent, but for all four to be accepted is incredible!”
The students will travel to London once a month to the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance where Cecchetti Ballet Associates offer classes for talented pupils aged 7–18 years who are receiving training in Classical Ballet.
“I think every body should dance: it’s so good for you, for your mental health, and keeps you fit. During lockdown a lot of mothers said ‘doing zoom lessons is the one thing that kept their children going’.
