Talented Blandford student Molly Carter is raising money to fund her stage-school dreams
“Since November 2021 I have been auditioning for drama schools specialising in Musical Theatre, and in December I was fortunate enough to be offered a place on a three-year course at Laine Theatre Arts, my dream school. Laine Theatre Arts receives thousands of applications every year, from which it selects just 80 students.
“However, I haven’t been able to get any government funding and because Laine is an independent school, student loans are not accessible. So I have been looking into various ways I can raise money to fund my schooling. I have written to local companies and set up my own Go Fund Me page at gofund.me/8ef321ee, which includes my story so far. I have been running bake sales, car boot sales and live performances throughout the summer, all to raise money to enable me to follow my dream.”
Molly starts in September! If you would like to hear more about Molly’s mission follow her on Instagram: @mollyanncarterx; or contribute to her GoFund.Me page and wish her luck!
