Suspected drugs and offensive weapons seized after Bridport police raid

POLICE seized suspected class A and B drugs, as well as offensive weapons, after a raid at a property in Bridport.

Officers executed a search warrant at an address in St Michael’s Lane at around 9am on Thursday (May 2).

During the raid, a Dorset Police spokesperson said officers located and seized quantities of suspected class A and class B drugs, as well as offensive weapons.

A 28-year-old man from Bridport was arrested at the scene and subsequently de-arrested while further investigative work is carried out.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Mike Brown, of Bridport police, said: “There is no place in Dorset for suspected drugs and we will relentlessly pursue those who are suspected of dealing drugs in our communities.

“We know of the harmful impact drug-related activity has and we will continue to proactively execute warrants to identify those we believe to be involved.

“We are determined to make our county a hostile place for suspected criminals and their operations, and a safe place for our residents and visitors. We value any information from members of the public as we look to build an intelligence picture of what is going on in the area.

“If you have any information regarding suspected drug-related activity, contact us at www.dorset.police.uk. If a crime is in progress, always dial 999.”
