Two arrested after police carry out drugs raids in Bridport

TWO people have been arrested after drugs raids in Bridport.

Dorset Police raided properties in Gore Cross Way and Doctor Roberts Close at around 9am on Wednesday morning (January 24).

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and the Force Support Group (FSG) took part in the raids, under section eight of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE).

During the warrant, officers located and seized large quantities of class B drugs, cash, cigarettes and vapes.

A 46-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both of Bridport, were arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply class B drugs. They are currently in police custody as the investigation continues.

Sergeant Michael Brown, of Bridport Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We will not give up on pursuing those who are suspected of being involved in the supply of illegal drugs in our area.

“We know that reported drug-related activity has a detrimental effect on our communities, and we value any information from members of the public that helps us to build an intelligence picture.”
