Suspected drugs and cash seized in police raids at Bridport properties

SUSPECTED drugs and cash have been seized after police raided properties in Bridport.

Officers executed search warrants at two locations in the town centre at around 10am on Thursday (March 14).

During the warrants, officers located and seized quantities of suspected class A and class B drugs, cash and digital devices, a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

A 34-year-old Bridport woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A. She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A man aged in his 40s and a woman aged in her 20s – both from Bridport – were arrested at the scene and subsequently de-arrested while further investigative work is carried out.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Mike Brown, of Bridport police, said: “There is no place in Dorset for suspected drugs and we are absolutely committed to disrupting the activity of those who are suspected of dealing drugs in our communities.

“We know the impact drug-related activity has on an area and we will continue to execute warrants to identify those believed to be involved.

“While working together with our partners, we are determined to make our county a hostile place for suspected criminals, while protecting our communities and safeguarding those individuals who need our help the most.

“If you have any information regarding suspected drug-related activity, contact us at www.dorset.police.uk. If a crime is in progress, always dial 999.”
