Man in his 20s found beside Dorchester road with “serious” injuries

A MAN was found with serious injuries beside a major Dorset road on Sunday morning (October 29).

Police are investigating after reports of an injured person on the Stafford bypass near Dorchester, south of West Stafford between the A352 and Highgate Lane at around 6.28am.

Emergency services attended and the man – in his 20s – was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a serious condition.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Wright, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are carrying out detailed enquiries as we seek to establish how this man came to sustain his injuries.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed anyone by the roadside in the area of Dorchester and the West Stafford bypass during the early hours of Sunday, or anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity, to please contact us.

“I would also ask any motorists with dashcam who were driving in the area to please review their footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
