THE 2026 Marnhull Village Show will take place on Saturday, July 11, with organisers promising a “fun day with lots of exhibits to see and entertainment to enjoy”.
Held at the Marnhull Village Hall and Recreation Ground, the show gets underway at noon, when outdoor refreshments will be available and stalls will open.
“There’ll be a bar, ice cream from Misha’s Hand Crafted Ices and a BBQ from the new landlords Sarah and John from the Blackmore Vale Inn,” a spokesperson said.
“The village hall and marquees open from 12.30pm, when all the show entries and prize winners will be on display and tea and cake available in the Village Hall. The Prize Giving ceremony is at 3.30pm.”
Entertainment during the afternoon includes sea shanties from the Shaston Shantyers, songs from the Marnhull Community Choir and music from folk musicians.
“Weather permitting, there’ll be a display of classic cars and motorbikes, which means only disabled parking will be available in the Village Hall Car Park,” the spokesperson went on.
Meanwhile, Marnhull Garden Club will be selling plants for charity, alongside stallholders including the Green Lake Craft Studio from Stur, Tony Moore (Bonsai), Shroton Gin and Mikey’s Dog Rescue, as well as the Community First Responders.
Activities will be on offer for children from St Mary’s PTFA and the young ones will also be able to have a go at making felt poppies for the Poppy Cascade, which the Marnhull Craft Club is making to decorate the Village War Memorial for Remembrance Day.
Visitors will also be able to vote for the Most Fragrant Rose and the best Sporty Scarecrow, as well as seeing who village posties picked as their favourite front garden in Marnhull.
Entry to Marnhull Village Show is free and all are welcome. Entry forms must be submitted by 5pm on July 7 and all vegetable, fruit and flower entries must have been grown within 10 miles of Marnhull.
