A303 in Somerset closed again due to flooding

THE A303 has been closed again due to flooding.

Somerset Council said the eastbound route has been shut due to flooding from the Cartgate roundabout (A3088) to the Ilchester junction.

It comes after dozens of roads were closed on Monday and Highways teams responded to around 40 incidents due to heavy rain.

Key Somerset roads closed this morning include:
* A356 Bower Hinton from A303 to West Chinnock
* A303 Bower Hinton eastbound
* A361 Greinton – Broadmead Drove to Partridge Close
* A378 Curry Rivel – Drayton turning to Brickwall Lane
* A358 at Donyatt/Peasmarsh – passable with care
* Tylers Lane – Fitzhead closed due to land slip

“Do not ignore closure signs,” a Somerset Council spokesperson said. “There will be surface water on roads across Somerset and smaller flooded roads.”
