A MUCH-LOVED grassroots music festival is on the brink of a sell-out offering a welcome boost for the region’s live music scene.
Cursus Festival, which returns to Myncen Farm in Blandford Forum, from 22 to 24 May, now has just 20 standard weekend tickets remaining, with organisers urging music fans to move quickly if they want to be part of this year’s event.
The independent festival has built a loyal following over the past decade and is now in its 11th year.
With a capacity of just 500 people, Cursus has earned a reputation for its intimate atmosphere, eclectic line-up and family-friendly feel.
Several ticket types have already completely sold out, including family weekend passes and Saturday day tickets, while only limited Friday and Sunday tickets remain.

This year’s line-up includes Saturday night headliners Peat & Diesel, alongside acts including Land of the Giants, Black Water County, The Hempolics, Skimmity Hitchers, RuMac and Pronghorn, plus many more across the weekend.
But organisers say Cursus is about much more than music.

Festival goers can expect everything from a DJ tent and live wrestling to rural crafts, a record shop and children’s activities in the popular DIY Den, where younger visitors can make friends and try new skills.
In a rarity for a full-scale music festival, dogs are also welcome on site, while both campers and live-in vehicles are catered for.
Festival organiser Kev Davis said the near sell-out came at an important moment for independent events.
“Much has been said recently about the precarious state of the UK’s live music and festival scene. To sell out Cursus would be a hugely positive statement and show that the independent, grassroots festival experience is still alive and well. Grab one of the last twenty tickets while you still can!”
With tickets disappearing fast, organisers are hoping 2026 could be one of the festival’s biggest years yet.

The line-up.
