A MAN was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence after reports of a disturbance in Dorchester – including a woman being chased.
Police were called to the incident, at around 3pm on Saturday afternoon (July 4), after reports of a man “causing a disturbance and being aggressive towards members of the public” in the Fairfield Road car park area.
A man, in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence, a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
“During a search, he was also reportedly found in possession of a suspected class A drug and was further arrested for that offence,” they added.
PC Glen Caddy, of Dorchester police, said: “We are continuing to carry out detailed enquiries into this incident and from our investigation so far, we understand the man involved was reportedly seen chasing a woman in the area of Fairfield Road shortly before police attended. This woman is described as black and wearing a nurses or carers uniform.
“We are really keen to identify this woman as we want to make sure she is all right and take her account of what happened. I would urge her to please make contact with us.
“I would also like to speak to any further witnesses who have not already had contact with police, or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries.”
Anyone with information should contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting incident number 55260100045, or Crimestoppers anonymously online or on 0800 555 111.
