One-day eco-friendly flower festival is coming to Dorset

A FESTIVAL highlighting farm-grown flowers and eco-friendly floristry in Dorset is coming to Shillingstone this weekend.

The one-day Dorset Eco-Friendly Flower Festival is taking place this Sunday (August 17) at the Dorset Lavender Farm Project on Holloway Farm.

It will provide an opportunity for people to meet Dorset growers, many of whom will have seasonal produce, arrangements and installations for display and purchase.

People are being encouraged to take part in workshops and join the many talks and demonstrations that are taking place all day.

Organisers said: “We’ll also have lunches and refreshments available, and music throughout the afternoon — it’s all taking place in full bloom at the wonderful Dorset Lavender Farm Project in Shillingstone.”

The festival will start at 11am with music in the festival marquee before the first talk of the day, a dried flower wreath workshop with Eveline’s Flowers in the workshop marquee, followed by an eco-friendly wedding flower talk and demonstration with Sue Carter from Old Chapel Flowers at the flower marquee.

A craft and flower market is taking place all day in the barn and meadow, as well as a dried flower display in the show wagon, and fresh flower installations in the festival marquee.

Tickets are £10 and can be bought from the festival website.

Workshops should be booked as far in advance as possible, as places are limited.
