Fans, families and players enjoyed a day in the sun at the Dorset FA County Ground over the bank holiday for the World Cup Heroes Mini Soccer Play Positive Festival 2026. Dorset FA was well represented with teams from clubs all over the county (and just over the border), although they were in varying guises representing World Cup countries.

The festival championed the Play Positive Stay Positive initiative which is all about enjoying the game; goals scored and games won were not recorded but Positivity around the pitch and during the games, were praised and rewarded.

Praise is well deserved to all the families/supporters that embraced the spirit of the game dressing up in Country colours, adorning colourful wigs, wearing national kits and decorating the ground with flags and banners. The county FA expressed particular thanks to the young referees that endured the heat, dressed in black. They also all helped to raise over £250 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, the partner charity of the Dorset FA Mini Soccer league.

The Dorset FA Mini Soccer League is proud to have over 250 teams playing every Sunday across the county, providing thousands of young players with the opportunity to enjoy football in a safe, fun, and positive environment.
