Sherborne woman slams “selfish” farmers who ruined parties with muck spreading

A FURIOUS woman claims they could not hold birthday and wedding celebrations outdoors in Sherborne because of “selfish” farmers.

Clare Abel hit out at farmers in the area around the Dorset town after claiming muck spreading meant the area “stank” across the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

She said: “The farmers moan about the IHT (inheritance tax) and rubbish on the roads, perhaps they should look more closely at home.

“We had a wedding and significant birthday last week and as it was lovely weather, we thought we would have it outside. No chance of that, the farmers went muck spreading and it ‘stank’ for at least five days.

“It is so selfish of these people, especially as it was bank holiday. No one could go out.”

She accused farmers of being “greedy”, resulting in more “slurry to remove”.

“I know they have a job to do but perhaps they should have less stock, if they haven’t got the acreage, so they don’t have to keep their animals in as much and then they would not have so much slurry to remove, for so long. They are just being greedy,” Mrs Abel added.

“I also appreciate that it is weather dependent, but perhaps it could be done over one day and then not get this stench every day for a week, especially over a bank holiday weekend.”

Seriously? The farmers spreading the muck is a necessary part of life. It is the muck used as fertiliser that makes the crops grow…without it there is no bread, cereals or even milk.
My guess is the person complaining is one of the many city folk who move to the countryside and then complain about and think they can change the country past times.
Farmers spread the muck after cutting the grass and whilst the weather is dry so they can access the fields. The fact it is a bank holiday to them is irrelevant. I’m sure the complainant didn’t worry when she went to the shops over the bank holiday to buy milk which wouldn’t b in the shops if the farmers stopped working every bank holiday.

Farmers are the lowest form of life on Earth . They are mean selfish and arrogant. They are bullies.
