PUPILS at St Andrews Primary in Yetminster celebrated Victory in Europe (VE) Day in style.

Yesterday (May 8) marked 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe.

To celebrate this historic milestone, pupils formed a giant VE on the field and took part in a street party – complete with music and dancing.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Our amazing students lined up to form a giant VE to celebrate 80 years since VE Day!

“It’s a fun way to remember a big moment in history and show our appreciation for those who brought peace to Europe.

“We also had a blast with our street party. The children danced, sang, and celebrated with music and good vibes – just like in 1945!

“A big thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and helped us commemorate this special day.”
