A POLICE probe into allegations of the ‘inappropriate sharing of images’ on digital messaging platforms has found ‘no evidence amounting to any criminal offences’.

Earlier this year, ITV News reported allegations ‘inappropriate images’ had been shared by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) firefighters.

The claims prompted Dorset Police and Wiltshire Police to investigate.

Now, the two forces have said a ‘thorough investigation’ has been completed.

“Dorset Police conducted proportionate enquiries and has found no evidence amounting to any criminal offences to support the allegations made within the ITV report,” a statement said.

“The investigation included opening up an anonymous reporting line and speaking to named individuals within DWFRS and Wiltshire Police.

“Both Dorset Police and Wiltshire Police are satisfied that a thorough investigation has taken place and these enquiries have now concluded.”

Wiltshire Police Assistant Chief Constable, Deb Smith, and Dorset Police Detective Superintendent, Lindsay Dudfield, added: “We take allegations of this nature incredibly seriously as demonstrated by this thorough and impartial investigation.

“We would always encourage anyone who has been a victim of crime, or thinks they have information relating to a crime, to come forward and report such matters.”
