A BLANDFORD care home’s Summer Fair got mayoral approval during a visit from the town leader.

Mayor Colin Stevens and consort Chris were at Castleman House, a Care Dorset residential care home, to officially open the gathering, which raised money for charity Teddy20.

After getting proceedings underway on Saturday (July 18), the mayor and consort stayed to enjoy amusements and entertainment before helping run the raffle.

Castleman House registered manager, Deb Wiltshire, said: “I would like to thank everyone for coming to the Summer Fair and making it so much fun for everyone.

“Raising money for Teddy20 was the choice of the people who live here, and although we will continue through the year, we have raised around £800 so far.”

Teddy20 provides emotional and financial support to children and young people suffering and undergoing treatment for Cancer.

Activities officer at Castleman House, Amanda Naisbit, added: “It was lovely to see so many people visit our fete and having a good time.

“We are very grateful to the staff for volunteering their time to help on the day.”
