“Inspirational” primary school praised with top inspection rating

A DORSET primary school has received a top rating after a visit from inspectors.

Pimperne CofE Primary School received a ‘Judgement One’ ranking after it was visited for a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) on December 5.

The report emphasised “the vision of the school is clear, compelling and understood by all. It drives the decisions of all leaders and shapes the community of the school”.

“As a result of the vision, each member of the school knows that they have responsibilities as well as rights,” it went on.

“This has created a vibrant culture of justice and care. Pupils and staff ‘grow’ at Pimperne Church of England VC school because time is taken to get to know each person as an individual.

“Relationships at all levels are strong and this means that people flourish.”

Fiona Waller, headteacher, said: “We are overjoyed that in our recent SIAMS inspection, we have been recognised as successfully living up to our foundation as a church school.

“For us, it is about community, doing our part to make a positive difference and knowing we have support from each other when needed.”

The SIAMS report praised “innovatively planned and inspirational” collective worship at the school, which “builds a clear sense of community within the school and beyond”.

“Pupils are now courageous advocates against rural isolation and loneliness,” it added.

“They take part in activities led by the church members and write letters to older members of the community.”

Mrs Waller added: “Pimperne Primary is truly is an extraordinary school, where all are known and valued as individuals and our strong Christian ethos and values help ensure that everyone flourishes.”
