Commuters welcome tasty fare as café at Gillingham train station re-opens

THE café at Gillingham train station has reopened – offering snacks and more to help commuters fend off hunger.

Behind the counter at The Railway Café is Russell Carter, who has taken on the venue.

Formerly The Sunflower Café, the eatery has undergone a makeover and Russell said hungry travellers – and Gillingham residents – have been enjoying the fare.

“Our doors opened on February 24 and so far, it’s been received very well,” he said.

“We have a great selection of hot and cold food, snacks, pastries and hot beverages on offer.

“Our breakfast boxes and homemade cheesecakes have been going down a treat.”

Seriously amazing food, I can’t seem to stop ordering the breakfast box. Chef is superb and staff, Mum and brother always very chatty and helpful. Going to have to rearrange my shifts so I can fit some more lovely food in.
