POLICE have issued a partial closure order at a house in Shaftesbury following “persistent anti-social behaviour and crime”.
A three-month order, starting yesterday (April 24), was issued for 35 Anstee Road.
This prevents anyone who is not the legal tenant, emergency services or representatives of Sovereign Housing Group from entering the property.
The order gives police powers to enter the premises and remove persons who are not authorised to be there. Breach of the order is a criminal offence and can result in a fine and/or imprisonment.
North Dorset Police said the property itself has been subject to ongoing issues for nearly two years, with “persistent anti-social behaviour and crime occurring as a result of persons frequenting the property.”

A spokesperson added: “This order is an important step in addressing the issues this property is generating in the area, and hopefully over the coming weeks we will see a significant reduction in such incidents occurring here.
“To help in such a reduction, we would like to encourage the local community to report any issues of anti-social behaviour, crime or breaches of the partial closure order at the address
Anyone who witnesses anyone entering the property or becomes aware of people in the property who are not permitted to be there is asked to call 101 to report the issues.
