Templecombe man charged after hare reportedly hunted in Sturminster Newton

A 19-YEAR-old from Templecombe has been charged with illegally hunting a wild mammal with dogs.

This comes after officers from Dorset Police Rural Crime Team investigated reports of an illegal hunt in Sturminster Newton.

A police spokesperson said: “It is reported that on the afternoon of October 13, 2024 a hare was pursued by a hunt group in the area of Bagber Common.

“Following an investigation led by PC Lauren Middleton, of Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, a 19-year-old man from Templecombe in Somerset has been charged with illegally hunting a wild mammal with dogs.”

He is due to appear at court on May 21.
