BURGLARS tried to force their way into a Blandford bike shop in a late-night raid.
Police are appealing for information after the attempted break-in by a man at Offcamber Cycles, in Salisbury Street, some time between 10.45pm and 11pm on Tuesday (July 23).
“Damage was caused to the window, but entry was not gained to the shop,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.
The man is described as wearing black shorts, trainers and a dark-coloured lightweight jacket.
PC Ashlea Gale, of Blandford Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time who may have witnessed what happened.
“I would like to hear from anyone who may have information about the incident to help my enquiries.”

After the incident, the shop posted on social media, thanking locals who had raised concerns.
They said the incident had “set off the alarm and smoke cloak” and prompted a response from the fire service.
“Thanks for your concerns everyone, it’s nice to know the local community has our backs, as once again we seem to be vulnerable to people wanting to help themselves to our stock,” they added.
In May last year, the shop was again targeted by thieves, who smashed a window and door trying to break in.
