A BIKER was airlifted to hospital after a crash near Dorchester on Sunday morning (May 25).
The incident, which involved two motorcycles, happened at around 11.10am in Old Sherborne Road, near Alton Lane.
It involved a black Raleigh motorcycle and a green BSA motorcycle – with the rider of the Raleigh – a man in his 60s – taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Dorset Police said his family has been informed.
The rider of the BSA motorcycle did not sustain any serious injuries.
Road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded and an examination of the collision scene was carried out, said Sergeant Mike Burt, of the Serious Collision Investigation Team.
“We are conducting enquiries into the circumstances of this collision, and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch if you have not already spoken to police,” he added.
“I would also like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
