Pitching In Southern League Division 1 (South)

Malvern Town secured their grip on second place with a 4-2 win at Cockrams in the Pitching In Southern League Division 1 South. Lee Hoopers side came straight out of the blocks and Yuri Quintos squeezed the ball in at the back post only a minute into the game.

Quintos then set up Harry Clark for the ‘Hillsiders ‘ second in the 24th minute to extend their lead. Lewis Sweeten got away to reduce arrears for Shaftesbury four minutes later and give the ‘Rockies ‘ hope.

Malvern extended their lead when Luke Payne set up Clark for his second of the game in the 53rd minute. Lewis Brown got the ‘Rockies ‘ back into the match getting free to fire the ball past Joshua Bishop in the 67th minute. Any chance of a revival was eliminated 14 minutes from time when Benjamin Baxter’s corner went straight in to keep Malvern’s promotion charge marching on.
