WALKERS from Mere collected a ‘New Year New Bottom’ badge after a near four-mile hike on a damp New Year’s Day.
About 36 walkers set off from the town clock in Mere to walk around Great Bottom, north of the town.
The Mere Footpath Group, which was awarded a grant last year by Wiltshire Council’s South West Wiltshire Area Board, organised and financed the walk.
