A CAT – sadly deceased – was found in a pile of fly-tipped rubbish in Dorchester with an electrical cord around its neck.

The animal was brought to the Castle Veterinary Clinic after being discovered by a member of the public in Bats Lane at around noon on September 7.

Now, animal charity the RSPCA is appealing for information to trace where the cat, which was not microchipped, came from and to piece together what happened to him.

RSPCA Inspector Patrick Bailey, who is investigating for the animal welfare charity, said: “The cat had an electrical cord tied around his neck and the vets think he was sadly killed by this cord.

“The member of the public, who found him and kindly took him to the vet, discovered him alongside a pile of fly-tipping in the middle of the road in Bats Lane, close to the junction with Mallards Green.

“It’s thought he’d been dead around 48 hours before being found.

“We’re really hoping to be able to locate his owner and find out how he came to be found in this state.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the RSPCA appeals line on 0300 123 8018.

After reading this disturbing story, i contacted the RSPCA informing them that i had an inkling as to whom this poor cat belonged to and who the evil perpetrator was! RSPCA were going to check it out but unfortunately they never got back to me with their findings!! I’ve been absolutely heartbroken by this horrendous act!
