STUDENTS at King Arthur’s School in Wincanton have been celebrating after picking up their GCSE results today (August 21).
The school said it received some of the highest results for King Arthur’s in its recent history, despite a secondary education that started in COVID lockdown and without sitting any exams in primary school.
The number of students achieving a Grade 5 in English and Maths has increased by more than 10%, with pass rates at Grade 4 also increasing by more than 10%.
A school spokesperson said: “Today’s results demonstrate the resilience, determination and pride with which these young people approached their studies and are a testament to the support they received from their friends, family and school staff.
They added: “We are immensely proud of the achievements of all our students but recognise the huge impact that these results will have for our young people and their next steps in life.”
