Weather warning for heavy rain across Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset today

HEAVY rain today may cause some flooding and disruption in places, the Met Office has warned, as it issued a warning.

The forecaster said heavy rain is set to hit the south west – including Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset – throughout Sunday (February 25) and into Monday.

“There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses,” the Met Office said.

“There is a chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

“Spray and flooding is likely to lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.”

A forecaster also said there is a “small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads”.

It comes after rain caused flooding on roads across the area last week.
