Van damaged in Frome fire in residential street

A VAN was damaged by fire in a Frome street last night (June 11).

Firefighters from the town, and from Warminster, were sent to Waverley Close at around 11.51pm to reports of a vehicle on fire.

“Upon arrival, crews confirmed one vehicle was well alight involving the engine bay and the front of van on a public highway,” a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“The cause of the fire was accidental.”

Crews used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, thermal image camera, a covering jet and small tools to extinguish the fire, they added.
