POLICE have arrested an 18-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman after a man was reportedly stabbed in Sturminster Newton.
Police said a man sustained stab wounds following a reported assault at an address in Stourcastle before 4.54pm on Tuesday (September 30).
A woman was also reportedly assaulted at the address, but did not sustain serious injuries.
The man was taken to hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The force has now arrested an 18-year-old man from Sturminster Newton on suspicion of attempted murder and a 53-year-old woman, also of Sturminster Newton, on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

They remain in police custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Darren Stanton, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to conduct detailed enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“There will be increased police activity in the area as our investigation continues and we would encourage anyone with any information or concerns to please speak with an officer.”

With towns and villages on North Dorset experiencing rapid housing developments (thus population explosions), and with it increased Anti Social Behaviour and crime, we need greater numbers of local police to be available and walking the patch.
To be honest can’t remember when I last saw a policeman in town, no community obes walking round roads.
