Clarke’s Auctions at Semley has just held the last of its summer sales with bumper prices achieved for most of the 1,250 lots offered.
Despite the current economic climate, the firm has seen buoyant results throughout the summer and is looking forward to successful sales in the Autumn.
This year has seen a 20th-century Black Forest carved bear hall stand fetch £3,400, a Victorian Howard & Sons upholstered armchair make £2,550, a 19th-century champleve and enamel mirror frame go for £7,500 and a Chinese Meiping vase sell at £3,400.
Its Classic Vehicles sales saw a 1928 Ford Model A Phaeton fetch £15,200 and a 1964 BSA A65 Rocket make £5,000.
After holding online-only auctions throughout the recent lockdowns the firm has found that most of its sales are made online and to overseas buyers in every continent with the Chinese market still strong.
Clarke’s has now re-opened its doors to the public and is pleased its regular buyers are returning to bid live in the salerooms.
It has expanded its workforce and valuers are busy dealing with enquiries ranging from a single piece valuation to complete house contents, valuations for probate and insurance, and arranging house clearances for families and solicitors.
Clarke’s is taking entries for future sales and enquiries for consignment into its autumn sales. For probate and insurance valuations and part- or full-house clearances phone Richard Clarke or Karen Marshall on 01747 855109 at the main offices in Kingsettle Business Park, Station Road, Semley, Shaftesbury.
For the next Classic Vehicles & Automobilia sale being held in October phone Matthew Whitney on the main office number.
