Teen taken to hospital after being knocked off bike in Shaftesbury

A TEENAGER was taken to hospital after being knocked off his bike in Shaftesbury.

The incident happened at around 7am this morning (Monday, February 27) on the A350 Grosvenor Road.

It involved a Nissan panel van and the teenage cyclist, police said.

The cyclist – a 14-year-old boy from Shaftesbury – was taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service. His injuries are not believed to be serious.

PC Neil Hawkes, of North Dorset police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch.

“Also, I am keen to hear from any motorists who captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
