A TAXI driver in Dorchester was attacked inside his cab on Christmas Day.
Police are appealing for information after an incident at around 6.30pm.
The driver, a man in his 40s, picked up another man from an address in Cambridge Road before he was assaulted by the passenger, who fled in the direction of the town centre.
The victim sustained minor facial injuries and was taken to hospital.
A 21-year-old man from Weymouth was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail as the investigation continues.
PC Mia-Isabella Bowditch, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at this time and has information about what happened to please come forward.
“Furthermore, I would ask any residents of the area to please review the recordings on their doorbell cameras or home CCTV systems to see if they have captured anything of relevance that can help us with our enquiries.”
