FLOODING caused by Storm Chandra is affecting large parts of North Dorset this morning, with fire crews and police responding to multiple incidents across the county.
At least 64 flood warnings were in force across the south of England at 7.30am, including 46 in Dorset.
While the amber rain warning for south west England has now expired, a yellow weather warning remains in place until 10am, and disruption is expected to continue beyond that time.
North Dorset Police has urged motorists to take extra care as officers attend numerous flood-hit locations.
The force said the A357 at Shillingstone is affected, with one vehicle abandoned at the eastern exit of the village.
The A350 Lower Blandford Road is closed between Shaftesbury and Sutton Waldron, as well as at Iwerne Minster.
Police also report that the junction after Iwerne Minster, heading north towards Child Okeford, is flooded and impassable, with four vehicles abandoned.
A spokesperson said: “Please take caution when driving through flood water and consider whether it is safe to do so, and if possible consider alternative routes.
“Police, fire and the local authority are working hard across Dorset this morning due to the weather and flooding.”

Dorset Council confirmed further closures, including the A35 at Stinsford, shut in both directions due to flooding between the B3150 Stinsford Hill and the A352 West Stafford turn-off near Dorchester.
The A351 is also closed both ways between the Norden Roundabout and the B3351 at Lytchett Minster.
Residents have reported the A30 at Ludwell is closed, with social media posts suggesting some properties near The Grove Arms have been flooded.
Gillingham Town Council has warned drivers not to attempt to pass through Eccliffe, where floodwater is deep and impassable.
Shaftesbury Fire Station said it has attended multiple incidents involving flooded roads and properties this morning.
A spokesperson said: “Please do not attempt to drive through flood water, even if you think it’s not that deep. Check your route before you travel.”
Similar warnings have been issued by Bridport, Sturminster Newton and Tisbury fire stations.
Bridport’s wading team was mobilised alongside Maiden Newton firefighters to rescue a vehicle in floodwater at Chilfrome.
Dorchester Fire Station reported the A37 is closed near Stratton (pictured above), causing long delays, with flooding also affecting the road to Bradford Peverell.
Flooding has also disrupted education and transport.
Sturminster Newton High School delayed the start of the school day until 10.30am due to unsafe road conditions, while rail services have been suspended between Castle Cary and Taunton, and between Salisbury and Romsey.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service has published further advice for residents affected by flooding on its website.
