A HISTORIC steam locomotive has been unveiled after undergoing a decade-long restoration led by volunteers.
The 1954 loco, a class 62 engine from the former Yugoslavia, was brought to the UK in 2006, and relocated to Shillingstone in January 2016.

The newly restored locomotive made its first official public appearance on Sunday, hauling a Santa Special service along the recently completed line extension at the North Dorset Railway.

Restoration work has been completed by Project 62, a dedicated group of railway enthusiasts who are also working on another Class 62 locomotive – 30076.
Both engines are Yugoslav-built versions of the American-designed USA 0-6-0 S100 locomotive and were originally used to shunt freight and raw materials at steelworks in cities including Zenica and Ljubljana.
