SHAFTESBURY comes alive this evening for Late Night Christmas Shopping, organised by the chamber of commerce.

Residents and visitors are invited to stroll the high street, pick up festive gifts and soak up the cheerful holiday atmosphere.

The event will feature live music and a prize raffle, and is a chance to support Shaftesbury’s independent shops while experiencing the warmth and festive spirit of the town centre.

Businesses will stay open until 8pm and shoppers can enjoy the twinkling Christmas lights illuminating the town, which have already received glowing feedback from the community.

The big lights switch-on took place at the end of last month with families braving a slightly damp evening to enjoy the sparkling display, supported by volunteers, businesses and even Santa himself.
