OFFICERS are investigating after a member of security staff was assaulted during a football game in Dorchester.

The incident took place at The Avenue Stadium on the afternoon of Saturday, December 27, 2025, during a Dorchester Town Football Club and Weymouth Football Club game.

An attendee is reported to have punched and kicked the staff member as he was being escorted out of the stadium.

The victim attended hospital with head and rib injuries, not believed to be serious.

PC Daniel Walker of Dorchester police said: “No one deserves to be assaulted at their place of work, and we have been exploring all lines of enquiry to identify the person involved.

“We are continuing to investigate this matter, and I would urge anyone who attended the game and witnessed the assault, or has information about what happened, to please contact us if you haven’t done so already.”
