DESPITE stormy weather outside, hearts were warm and spirits high in Gillingham where the community gathered for a special charity Christmas singalong.
Hosted by Dementia Friendly Gillingham, this week’s festive-themed Singing Together session united people through the joy of music, with carols and Christmas songs ringing out and filling The Community Room with seasonal cheer.
A particularly heartfelt thank you was extended to the staff and children of St Mary the Virgin Primary School choir who braved the poor weather conditions on Wednesday to share their voices and bring extra magic to the afternoon.
Their enthusiasm, talent and warmth were described as “absolutely delightful”, and their contribution helped make the session truly memorable for everyone involved.
As the singing drew to a close, the celebrations continued in true Christmas style with plenty of tea, mince pies and, of course, even more singing.
Laughter, conversation and familiar melodies created a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, perfectly capturing the spirit of the season.
Organisers expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success, highlighting once again the power of music to bring people together – especially at Christmas.
