Pupils at St Nicholas CE VA Primary School in Child Okeford have been helping Ukrainian nationals who have fled their homeland as a result of the war in Ukraine.
The school joined in with a collection of essential aid being sent on a lorry to the Polish border while the school council organised a Ukraine Day in which children and staff attended dressed in yellow and blue.
Instead of asking for money not to wear school uniform, pupils were asked to bring in a cakes for a sale that was organised at the end of the day.
One parent made Ukrainian Flag biscuits for all the children in the school to eat and an Easter Cake which was auctioned.
The school council also organised a competition to guess the number of sweets – all blue and yellow – in a jar.
The final amount of money raised and sent to the Disasters Emergency Committee was £350.90.
