RESIDENTS in Sturminster Newton have been warned not to attempt crossing the town bridge as rising river levels create dangerous conditions.
Dorset Council Highways are currently overwhelmed by the flooding, the town council says, and it is taking guidance from the fire brigade and police to keep people safe.
Residents are urged to be patient, exercise caution and avoid the bridge until conditions improve.
Council staff are working hard to provide support and help prevent accidents.
The town council says updates will be shared as the situation changes.
