Popular Somerset café, wine shop and deli announces it will close next week

A POPULAR Somerset café, wine shop and deli is closing next week.

Number Sixteen, in Wincanton High Street, has been running for six years offering light lunches, coffee, teas, cakes and more to hungry townsfolk.

But now, owner Tracey has announced she will be retiring to “enjoy time with family”.

“After a wonderful six years it’s time for a new chapter,” she said. “Saturday, May 31, will be our last day of trading. Both Sienna and I are moving on to pastures new.

“For me, that means early retirement and time to finish our new house and garden and enjoy time with family. For Sienna, exciting adventures await!

“We want very much to thank all our lovely customers for their support over the years.

“To our very regular customers and suppliers, who have become friends over the years, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all, we will miss you all, the banter, fun and jokes, a heartfelt thank you to you all.”

Customers reacted with sadness to the news, with one writing on social media: “Oh wow, that six years went fast! Ready to retire and spend time with your new grandchild!”, while another wrote: “New adventures lie ahead for you all! Happy retirement!”
