A LORRY crashed into a railway crossing barrier near Dorchester.
Police are appealing for information after an incident in Moreton Road, Woodsford, at around 11.20am on Wednesday (August 14).
The HGV failed to stop at the scene, said PC Kier Dagnall, of the Dorset Police Roads Policing Team.
“This incident caused the barrier to snap off, meaning the road was closed for a number of hours and trains were impacted,” they added.
“I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area and saw what happened or has relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.
“I would also like to speak to the driver of the lorry so I can take their account of what happened.”
Anyone with information should contact Dorset Police via www.dorset.police.uk, or by calling 101, quoting incident number 55240108474. They can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
