Police hunt couple after alleged assault in Sturminster Newton

POLICE are trying to track down people involved in an alleged assault outside a Sturminster Newton shop.

Officers responded to reports of a man assaulting a woman outside the One Stop store, in Station Road, at around 11.48pm on Monday, June 5.

However, they were unable to locate the man or the woman.

PC Nick May, of Dorset Police, said: “Since the report, we have been making enquiries trying to identify the individuals involved. Unfortunately so far, we have been unable to do so.

“As we need to identify the victim to ensure she is safe and well, I am appealing for anyone with information about her identity to please come forward.

“Also, I am now in a position to release an image of a man I would like to speak to.

“Anyone who recognises him or has further information that could assist our investigation is asked to contact police.”
