Police dogs help find stash of suspected drugs and cash in Sherborne

A STASH of suspected class A and B drugs were seized by police following a raid at a Sherborne property earlier this morning (September 11).

Officers, under a proactive warrant, were assisted by police dogs when they entered an address in Higher Cheap Street.

Drugs, paraphernalia, cash, mobile devices and cannisters of nitrous oxide gas were all seized by the police.

The force said a 42-year-old man is assisting officers with their enquiries and is due to attend a voluntary police interview.

Sergeant Mike Brown, of Dorset Police, said: “Our proactive work executing warrants at addresses where we suspect illegal drug activity is taking place is part of our wider commitment to disrupting drug-related activity in our communities.

“We continue to urge anyone with information regarding suspected drug dealing or use to please report it to us via 101 or on the Dorset Police website.

“If we do not know about it, we cannot take action to resolve it. Always dial 999 if a crime is in progress.”
