Police appeal after alleged hit-and-run crash near Shillingstone

POLICE are tracing a black vehicle which failed to stop after a crash near Shillingstone.

The incident occurred at around 8.30am on Wednesday, December 4, on the A357 between Sturminster Newton and Shillingstone.

Officers said it was reported a black hatchback vehicle, suspected to be a Ford Fiesta, collided with a blue VW Passat near the turning to Child Okeford and the driver of the black hatchback failed to stop at the scene.

PC Charlotte Fowler, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge anyone with a dashcam who was driving in the vicinity on the morning of Wednesday, December 4, to please check any footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to appeal directly to the motorist involved in this collision to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
