North Dorset U14’s Champions

North Dorset U14s 53 – 5 Bradford on Avon

North Dorset played their final cup match of the season against Bradford on Avon at home and put on a cracking show! The boys were ready to go, and the crowd were delighted with Sam McConnell’s first try 6 minutes in.
The boys kept their concentration up, and a second try by Sam, 3 minutes later, was successfully converted by number 15 Sam Barnes. Not showing any sign of slowing down, Player Of The Match Sid Moore got the home side another try. Five minutes later, after an excellent tackle from number 1 Ben Mitchell and a well-timed pass from second row Charlie Smith, Sam then claimed his Hat-trick.
After a minor lapse of concentration, the home boys conceded a try. But this didn’t dampen their spirits. Out the back of a maul in his own 22, Sam scored his 4th try after an incredible spectacle of speed, right under the posts for Sam Barnes to convert. The Dorset lads were an impressive 29 – 5 in the lead at halftime.
During the second half, after a change in the forwards, Cass Tatman took over the captaincy and made sure the team didn’t disappoint. 2 minutes in, number 11 Felix Empson scored in the corner, followed by second-row Arly Ramelli. Number 8 Josh Parkman made his appearance with two tries in quick succession, Sid Moore successfully converting one of them. Overall, as the final whistle blew at Slaughtergate, North Dorset Under 14’s were champions at 53 – 5 and secured the premiership plate with the bonus try.
