A MAN aged 25 from North Dorset has been charged in connection with two separate burglaries earlier this year.
Police launched investigations following a break-in at the Morrisons store on Bell Street, in Shaftesbury, on Saturday, May 24 when a quantity of vapes was stolen.
Officers also investigated a burglary at The Barn Pharmacy in Newbury, Gillingham, on Wednesday, August 6, involving the theft of prescription medicines.
Following detailed enquiries, the suspect was arrested and has now been charged with two offences of burglary.
He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, December 31).
Inspector Adam Gill of North Dorset Police said: “We recognise the impact reports of commercial burglaries have on the businesses that are targeted and we will continue to explore all lines of enquiry to identify those believed to be involved and take appropriate action.”
The police have stressed the importance of vigilance for businesses and urged anyone with information relating to commercial burglaries to come forward.
