New café bar plan for Sherborne shop premises

A NEW café bar is set to open in Sherborne – on the site of a discount store.

The former Original Factory Shop, at 55 Cheap Street, is set to become Yeo Lounge – a café bar run by the Bristol-based restaurant chain, Loungers UK, if plans are approved.

Loungers UK runs venues across the south west and beyond, including in Street, Yeovil, Wells, Frome and Weston-super-Mare.

A planning application submitted to Dorset Council by Reade Associates details new signs for the premises, including lighting and a menu board.

Another plan, submitted by Turley for the same property, seeks permission for internal alterations, including installing a new ventilation system and safety rails.

“The proposals have been designed to avoid any conflict with the surrounding Conservation Area and setting of nearby buildings,” the application said.
