A DRIVER of a silver Volkswagen Touran sustained serious injuries after he was involved in a crash on the A356 near Chedington.
The Volkswagen crashed with a silver Volvo XC40 at 10.31am today (November 4).
The driver of the Volkswagen, a man in his 40s was airlifted to hospital, but there were no other reports of serious injuries.
Road closures were put in place so emergency services could respond and carry out an examination of the crime scene.
“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision,” said sergeant Lee Savage of the roads policing team.
“I would urge any witnesses to the collision, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it, to please make contact with us.
“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.
“These are necessary to enable the emergency services to safely respond to the incident and for the scene to be examined.”
